How to: Close a query.
Solution:
Switch to Microsoft Query, if a query is active, select 'Return Data to Microsoft Excel' on the 'File' menu. On the 'File' menu, select 'Exit'.
1) Switch to Microsoft Query.
2) If a query is active, select the 'File' menu and select 'Return Data to Microsoft Excel'. (The Get External Data dialog box appears.)
3) Select the applicable check boxes from the 'Options' group.
4) Type a destination.
5) Click 'OK'.
6) Select the MS Query 'File' menu and select 'Exit'.
NOTE: If Microsoft Query is closed before selecting 'Return Data to Microsoft Excel,' a blank result set appears in Microsoft Excel. Double-click a cell in the blank result set to open the query definition. Then return the data to Microsoft Excel before closing Microsoft Query.
